stuff you can do

My experience of having cancer, so far, is that it is exhausting and boring. I have to repeat stories over and over to doctors, nurses, family members, and friends to help everyone understand what's happening. I'm trying to post things here so that I don't have to answer the same questions repeatedly.
  • Be patient if you want me to contact you back. I'm really overwhelmed by the number of phone calls, text messages, etc., that I get. Sometimes I'm tired of talking about my adventures with Lumpy, Sneaky, the Rebel Forces. Sometimes, I'm just tired. I can't always get back to you quickly. Please don't take it personally.
  • Send me cards, email, encouraging messages of any kind. That's awesome and very much appreciated!
  • Talk to other people if cancer, or my experiences with it, stress you out.  I cannot process that experience with you.
  • Treat me the way you normally would. (Except if we normally get together for drinks, since I might not be able to do that as much.)
  • Excuse my crabbiness.
  • Excuse my poor writing. I'm often in pain or on pain medications as I'm writing these posts.
  • Let me know if you are interested in helping me with rides to appointments, visits, and other kinds of support. I have a LotsaHelpingHands caregiving coordination thingy so that I don't have to text a bunch of  folks if I need help with something.
